ABOUT THE BOOK

This book explores what happens when familiar roles begin to shift, when the role that once worked no longer fits, and when the body knows better than the mind. When a person no longer simply wants to survive or conform, but seeks a new direction from within.

It lies at the intersection of philosophy, psychology and lived experience. It is not about analysing from a distance, but about recognising what arises within.

After more than 25 years of management experience in the financial sector, Margareta saw time and again how people can appear successful on the surface whilst at the same time losing their inner sense of direction. This book grew out of that observation and from her many years of in-depth study of existential psychology, logotherapy and integrative psychotherapy.

- Reflections on identity and direction

- Stories from life and leadership

- Insights from philosophy and psychology

- Questions that invite self-reflection

- An invitation to find a new direction when the old story no longer holds true.

What early readers are saying

"I love your book. I already know who I'll lend it to when I've finished. And do you know what I've noticed? It's making me think deeply again. That can't be a bad thing... "
Margot, Amsterdam
"It's late at night and I've just started reading the introduction. I think it's wonderful. One hundred percent phenomenological. Thank you for writing this book."
Bart, Antwerp

FOR WHOM

People who bear responsibility — whether visible or invisible — and feel that their role is no longer sufficient.

People who are once again seeking direction from within, and no longer wish simply to survive or conform.

Managers and directors who feel that it is becoming increasingly difficult to reconcile their inner turmoil with their external role.

Anyone who is prepared to slow down, observe and make mature choices — even the difficult ones.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Margareta Pyckhout

An economist, Executive MBA and former director in the financial sector. For many years, she found herself in situations where responsibility, integrity and inner tension intersect. In recent years, she has immersed herself in existential psychology, logotherapy and integrative psychotherapy, and founded Taradin, through which she supports organisations in addressing the question of what happens when the individual, their role and the context are no longer aligned.
